Set up TES Web Query

The TES Web Query is very easy to setup and start.

The finance computer, that will be running the web query, will need to have a static IP address. A DNS name would be useful, but is not necessary.

Step 1: Navigate to the TES application folder and locate WebTQ.exe. This is commonly C:\TES\ACTW.

Step 2: Create a shortcut to WebTQ.exe. This is the web query app.

Step 3: Add the shortcut for WebTQ.exe to Start > Programs > Startup folder. This will allow the web query to start when the secretary turns on the computer.

Step 4: Start the Web Query.

Step 5: The finance secretary will need to enter their password if the security has been set up for TES. If not it should be done at this time.
         a - Open TES
         b - Navigate to File > Manager > Security > Browse Users
c - Create a user id and password for the finance secretary. This information, ie passwords, can only be changed here in TES.
d - Choose Manager. (This step is critical... The "manager" setting allows access to the security feature; if it is not set-up first you will be locked out.)
1 - You might consider having a second person set up as "manager" as a back up, such as the tech person.

Step 6: The finance secretary will need to create user accounts for the people that will be using Web Query.
a - Open TES (if not already open)
        b - Navigate to File > Manager > Security > Browse Users
c - Create a user id and password for each person that will use Web Query. This information, ie passwords, can only be changed here in TES. The user id and

password will need to be given to the users.
d - Specify what access the user will have. Choose Web Query.
        e - Specify which activities/accounts the user will be able to access. Activities will be listed on the left side and individual accounts on the right side. Click insert;
then browse for the activity & / or individual accounts the user will be allowed to view. For the principal check "Web Query All Activities and Accounts.
Repeat c thru e for each user.

Step 7: The finance computer will need to be on during the times the users will be allowed to access Web Query.

In order for the users to access the Web Query they will navigate in their web browser to http://finance_computer_IP:88
They will then be prompted to login.
