We have found that there is a problem with many of the searches that we have been using.

The attendance stored searches and searching for student activities are no long working properly.

PowerSchool is aware of the problem and is working on a solution.

Below is the notice from PowerSchool on the issue.

Issues Searching Custom Fields After 6.0.1.5 Update

Summary

An issue has been discovered where student searches on custom fields using the # (not equal to) are turning up incorrect results.

Symptoms

When searching a student using a # such as bike_permit# , one of the following symptoms may be observed.

  • Results include all students and not just those that meet the search criteria.
  • An alert is presented in the browser with text similar to the following:

Notes

Some reports have cited that any search may be trigger this issue, for example: bike_permit= OR bike_permit#1 Or bike_permit=1. In these cases, please provide Technical Support with the exact search parameters being used and also indicate if there are some parameters that are working correctly.
