Final Grade Setup

Before teachers can enter grades in PowerTeacher grade containers called Final Grades must be set up for each school. To set up Final Grades to School in the left menu of the main screen. Next select Final Grade Setup under Grading in the School Setup Menu. Below is an example of a High School with no Final Grade entries.

Final Grade containers should be added for each scheduling term. High schools need containers on all three levels Year, Semester and Quarter because they schedule classes as short as a quarter (Drivers Ed). Middle and Intermediate schools need containers only in Year and Semester or Trimester levels. Elementary schools only need containers in the Year level. Look at the samples below to see what a complete list of final grade containers look like. Year containers have a final grade setup for each term. Semester containers have only the quarters that fall inside the semester dates.

Setting up a single container:
  • Click new in the term where the container will be added. To add a Q1 container to the 2009-2010 school year click on the [NEW] under the 2009-2010 term. If your school is on a quarter system you will need to set up a Q1 i2009-2020 and Semester 1 (and Quarter 1 if you teacher Drivers Ed or a similar Quarter length class.) See the example below:

Use the Quarter or Trimester dates form the Years and Terms table (bottom level). You can find years and terms It is near the bottom in School Setup. See Below for Secondary and Elementary - Intermediate.

High School Middle School Terms:

Elementary Intermediate Terms
