Enrolling Students in a Class at Another School

Students may in enroll in classes at another school using the Functions Screen. The receiving school should be contacted if the class is not set up to open enrollment like the Aerospace courses. COunselors should be careful not to overload classes in another school without contacting the receiving school.

How to Enroll in a Class at Another School (From Power School)

Sometimes a student is eligible to take a course at another school but will not be transferring to that school for all courses. Enroll the student in courses at other schools as long as the other schools share your PowerSchool system.

Before initiating the process you may wish to run the School Master Schedule report found in Reports -> WCSD.


Below is a sample of DHS's listing or Aerospace courses:


The columns include Section ID, Course Name, Section Number, Expression (Period), Teacher, Term. The last column is the number students enrolled in the class when the report was generated.

Note: When storing grades for students taking classes at other schools, the TermID fields must match between the schools for those enrollments to store correctly.

  1. On the start page, search for and select a student.
  2. Under Enrollment, choose Functions from the student pages menu. The Functions page appears.
  3. Click Enroll in a Class at Another School. The Enroll Student in a Class at Another School page appears.
    • In the image above you enter the course number then period (.) and then the section number. Aerospace Science I 5(B) would be entered as: 3645.70401

  4. Use the following table to enter information in the fields:

    StudentThe selected student appears.
    School Where the Class is HeldChoose the school where the class is held from the pop-up menu.
    Course.Section

    Enter the course and section number. Separate the numbers with a period and no spaces.

    Enrollment dateEnter the enrollment date using the format mm/dd/yyyy or mm-dd-yyyy. If you do not use this format, an alert appears. If you submit the date with an incorrect format, the date field is submitted as a blank entry.
  6. Click Submit. The Changes Recorded page appears.
